About The Sisters

The Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Ghost (CMSS), founded by Reverend Mother Marie de Montfort, CMSS, is an autonomous Roman Catholic religious Community of women, which staffs the Catholic Research Institute. It was founded, and its Rule was episcopally approved, in 1996. In 1997 the Congregation received Apostolic Approbation from His Excellency, Archbishop George Hamilton Pearce, SM., DD. Archbishop Pearce worked with these Sisters for the Restoration of Holy Mother Church, until his death on August 31, 2015.Since the death of Archbishop Pearce, the Sisters have been blessed to be working with one of the few living Bishops consecrated by His Holiness, Pope Pius XII Himself. Since this Bishop never attended Vatican Council II, nor adhered to, nor signed, any of the documents that came from that Council, nor did He, in any way, pledge allegiance to any of the so called “popes” of Vatican II namely, John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, John Paul II, Benedict XVI, or Francis I, these Sisters have a pure connection, not to a group, but to the Roman Catholic Church Herself. These Sisters are not now, nor have they ever been affiliated with any of the CMRI chapels, or to the CMRI group itself. These Sisters are not an offshoot of CMRI, they are a totally separate entity, and have been since their foundation. This has allowed these Sisters to spread the Catholic Faith throughout many countries such as, Afghanistan, Italy, France, Ireland, Japan and our beloved homeland, the United States of America. The primary spirit of these Sisters is based on devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the pattern as taught by St. Louis Marie De Montfort. His Prayer for Missionaries expresses the spirit that fills the hearts of the women who are members of this Congregation. Their goal is to pray and work for the Restoration of our Holy Catholic Faith through their main apostolate, the Catholic Research Institute.
